The Cygne at Songbird Sanctuary

The Space

Here you are reading about our one bedroom home, ‘The Cygne'. It is a 55m² little fantasy house with a storybook stair tower.  it has an enclosed patio, living room with a sofa bed and toilet room, and upstairs you have a bedroom with ensuite bathroom.  We have just fully renovated this house, but there is not yet any kitchen or kitchen facilities here - the patio will eventually be a kitchen, at the moment you can see the plumbing lines - let's call this a diamond in the rough, a phenomenal opportunity for people who appreciate what has been created so far, and can live with the minor inconveniences that future adjustments will correct when the kitchen installation is made. You are on the same courtyard as our house and our cave bedroom/bathroom, the Cygnet, an extra 30m² room, if you would want to rent them together.

About Me

My photo
Frankly, I never thought I'd end up living here but - you see, I met a man. On a ski trip - Alps - chalet - fireplace - well, it's been over twenty years. I can't give you the complete insider's guide to France yet, (I believe that takes three generations) but I can give you an ex-New Yorker's guide to this fabulous Valley of Kings. We'd started in Paris, of course - our first studio was my husbands - that's where we lived once we decided to share a continent. We were there until our son was about negative-one-month old, and we didn't want to have to convert the bidet into a bassinet. Once we moved, I started renting out that apartment and everything fell into place. As an architect, I loved fixing up the apartments, and as an ex-pat, I loved meeting the people who come to enjoy their vacations in Paris. Now, we’ve made the move out to the Loire Valley. We've renovated two glorious properties here, creating several fabulous vacation homes, you’ve got to see the pictures. The locations are perfect for exploring the region – the chateaux, the wine, the scenery, it’s beautiful.
